Meet the artist & maker

Lesley Birch was born in Glasgow in 1958 and has been a secretary, a musician and a teacher. In 2004 she began painting seriously whilst living in Cambridge. Mainly self-taught, she has gone on to win awards and exhibit in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Great North Show and the Mall Galleries. Her paintings speak to the heart, notable for their innate sense of colour and expression. Lesley is based at Pica Studios, York.
