Exhibiting in 2018
After years of textile practice, Jill has returned to study. She now combines Art and Design Access and Constructed Textiles course work in her new pieces of embroidery. They have roots both in Japanese techniques and in the natural world - in domestic patching and quilting, in plants and the landscape. Jill loves to combine controlled stitching with asymmetry, texture and raw edges with the richness of silks and cotton fabrics.
This is the first year that Jill Shepherd has exhibited at York Open Studios
